Casa de Leon is a local Mexican restaurant at 9217 Long Point Rd, Houston, TX 77055, serving food with a strong homestyle feel and a loyal neighborhood crowd. It has earned attention for generous portions, fair prices, and a menu that leans more into traditional Mexican cooking than standard Tex-Mex. From the first basket of chips to the last bite of rice and beans, the food feels warm, filling, and made for repeat visits.
The menu at Casa de Leon covers many Mexican favorites, with tacos, enchiladas, fajitas, soups, breakfast plates, seafood, and daily-style comfort dishes. One of the best details is the homemade flour tortillas, often mentioned by guests as a major reason to come back. They are soft, warm, and a good match for barbacoa, pastor, carne guisada, fajita meat, eggs, or any saucy plate that needs a tortilla on the side.
Tacos are a strong choice here. Guests can find fillings such as barbacoa, pastor, beef tongue, chicken, stewed beef, pork, and beef head, each served with a simple, satisfying balance of meat, tortilla, salsa, and fresh toppings. The pastor tacos bring a savory, lightly sweet flavor, while barbacoa gives a richer and more tender bite. For a heavier meal, carne guisada offers slow-cooked beef in a thick, flavorful gravy that pairs well with rice, beans, and tortillas.
Casa de Leon also serves classic plates like fajitas, bistek a la Mexicana, enchiladas verdes, enchiladas supremas, flautas, chimichangas, milanesa, and cabrito adobado. The enchiladas have a more tomato-based sauce style rather than the brown gravy often found at Tex-Mex spots, giving them a brighter and more traditional flavor. Fajitas come out hot and savory, with grilled meat, onions, peppers, and sides that turn the plate into a full meal.
Breakfast is another useful part of the menu. Plates such as huevos rancheros, huevos con chorizo, and huevos a la Mexicana bring eggs, beans, tortillas, and salsa together in a simple but hearty way. Soup lovers can go for caldo de res or seafood-style soups, while seafood fans can choose mojarra frita, camarones empanizados, camarones a la diabla, or caldo de camarones.
Casa de Leon fits diners looking for real Mexican comfort food in a casual Houston setting. It is relaxed, friendly, filling, and full of familiar flavors, making it a solid pick for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a late meal on Long Point Road.

Excellent food and good prices. Don’t come looking for typical Tex Mex here. The enchiladas are made with a tomato based sauce- not brown chile gravy. The rice is some of the best I’ve had. The beans were pretty average. I also ordered queso flameado which was excellent. Happy that they also stay open late. Good neighborhood spot.
